Dream House

We finally have our dream house!! After months and months of negotations and pure agony dealing with the sellers... It's ours! I never imagined living in a house so big. Horray for haggling and the economy! The sellers were so mad that they lost so much money that they didn't even come to the closing. They also took every possible thing they could before they closed. Including the toilet paper and gasp - THE BOSE SYSTEM. Don't mess with our surround sound, people. We were sooo excited to have it, and even made sure that it was included in the contract... but they tried to get one last jab in at the end. We fought for it, and now it is all ours. Visitors welcome anytime!!

Hoppy Easter

I guess it was a day or two before Easter that it actually hit me that I really have to get my motherly Easter act on. Because I still think of Sarah as a baby, I naively thought my main duty as a mom simply to take Sarah and Marco to get their photo taken with the bunny. Somehow though, it finally hit me: Sarah gets it now. At 19 months, she knows Easter is coming. I was unprepared for my newfound discovery... I frantically became aware of the fact that I have to make baskets...I have to do the egg hunt and make some kind of morning Easter ritual. Holy moley...I am now responsible to make memories for people! Acting fast, I made plans for the egg hunt and bunny at the park. I hid eggs in the living room. I filled baskets with random toys I bought. I gleefully called Chris at the hospital the night before Easter to explain it all...Then I realized. This is stuff that makes you LOVE being a parent.

Eggs and Bunnies

Today was a momentus first in the life of my firstborn, for Sarah got her Easter Egg Hunt game on. She collected a whopping six eggs and I was proud to say actually got the hang of the game pretty well. She definitely was the most dolled up kid at the event, thanks to her mom who likes to play dress up for such occasions...

Our next stop after the Egg Hunt was to see the Easter Bunny at the park. Sarah (as you can see) did not want to sit on his lap, while Marco was his usual laid back, go with the flow self and just calmly sat in his arms.

Sarah saying Thank You to the bunny.

HAPPY EASTER!

And Then There Were Two

A day at Clever Park last Thursday found Sarah loving the slide, hating the swing, and trying to kiss a little boy. (Luckily the mom didn't mind!) I think the kissing stems from a two things: regularly practicing on her brother and an instance she had at a restaurant. Chris, Sarah, and I went to the Original Pancake House for breakfast one day when I was pregnant. We met the owner, his wife, and their son who was a little older than Sarah. His Spanish mom had the kids kissing and hugging like crazy.. so cute. Not always so cute when she does it on random boys, though!

A thing or two on this guy... he is really just such a good baby. He has started smiling at me this past week. He even grinned at me in the middle of the night when I was half awake after he vomited cottage cheese-like chunks in my hair. He thinks he is funny like that. He is so low maintance and is so good at tolerating Sarah's smothering. Sarah smothers him with kisses galore, points to and names his body parts, and pokes regularly in his eyes, ears, and mouth... What a sport. I even caught her violently swinging him on his baby swing and he just patiently sat there without a peep. I think he is pretending to be a rapper in this photo...
